I just found this site and wanted to say hello. I've owned Shelby's in the past, the most recent a '67 GT500 that I sold just before the price jumps, (just my luck). Anyhow hopefully I'll be on this site a lot.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm from Nelsonville, Ohio in the southeastern part of the state. Tim, my last GT500 came from your neck of the woods. It was sold new at Tasca and stayed in your area all it's life until right before I bought it. I know I'll probably never be able to afford another one now, prices being the way they are so I'm in the process of building a car to MY tastes, on a 68 fastback chassis. I have an aluminum 427 tunnel port that I was going to put in it but I'm thinking now that I might build a cobra replica, use the 427 in that and put a '69 351W out of my drag car into the 68. Either way I go, it should be a fun car that I won't be afraid to drive due to the rarity. Anyhow, it's nice to find a forum where there are people with similar interests.

I also just added a couple of pics of my old '67 GT500 #899 in my gallery.

Tasca is about 3 miles from my house (the new one) The old E Providence building is still standing. I see Bob around frequently. I never pass a chance to sit down and talk with him. His memory of the 60's and development of the CJ and other Ford racing is incredibly sharp. I have a great picture of him and my 68 if I can figure out how to post it.

Interesting , years ago when Tasca had their show in the old place, Bob Sr. signed my sun visor, & C.S. had signed the passenger side visor. I enjoyed talking to Bob , real nice guy.---S.

    Doug,

Just wanted to say Hi and Welcome.

I'm a newbie here myself but I have been impressed with the folks on these forums - very helpful and personable.

When I still had my shelby I spent some time on the phone with Tasca's old high performance sales manager, Dean Greggson. He had some good stories about all the old performance cars that used to grace their lot. He also hooked me up with the original sales invoice for my car! Pretty cool. After he remembered who my car was sold to new, he even remembered it. I understand he has his own dealership now, subaru I think. I believe it's called wigwam sales.

My wife is from Norwich (between Zanesville and....

Cambridge) and my 1968 G.T.350 convertible was owned by a man in Zanesville a few decades ago.

I was up near Cambridge a few weeks ago to look at a 67 GT500. Nice car, I wish it was for sale. I'd been trying to track it down for a long time and finally found it.
