I found the following and post it for anyone interested. I have no reason to believe that this is not legit. The Stop ALS Foundation (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease) is advertising a raffle for a 66 GT-350H: 1966 Shelby GT350H Mustang Black and Gold stripe Black Interior Original motor and Drive-train 4-Speed Transmission Listed in The Shelby Registry With Original Invoices Drawing to be held Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2:00 EST In Grand Rapids, MI. For more info:http://www.stop-als.org/wincar.aspx Good Luck to them for the fundraising and to whomever is lucky enough to win it. j
1966 Shelby GT350H Mustang 4-Speed, 37,000 original miles on the Original Motor Estimated Value: $225,00 You would have to pay a hefty tax on a winning value of $225,000. If you won the car, do you think you could argue that the value is only around $125,000??? It's hard to say without seeing the car but, what do you think the value actually is? (regular transaction...non-BJ/hyped up auction price)
You should be able to argue the car is worth $100,000 since the winner has the choice of a GT350H or $100K in cash. robin
My company, Stephen G. Becker, LLC sold the STOP-ALS Foundation this discussed car late last year. Trust me when I say it is well worth the appraised value. I am watching junk 1966 GT 350H cars bring $ 175,000.00 ALL DAY LONG. This is a REAL factory 4 speed GT 350H with ALL matching numbers. I would take the car over the cash (as a winner of the raffle) ALL DAY LONG. Stephen
I would take the Car as well. Taxes are a measly sum after the price of a Ticket is added on top. just look at what you get in return: Awesome 66 GT350H 4 speed..!!!!
I saw the car at BJ in January, believe me when I say it is awesome and definitely not junk! Certainly not worth more than 100K. Pay the tax then take the car and run! Good luck to all in the raffle and bless the winner.
