hi there - im just about to replace both mufflers on my '66 GT350. They are both Dynomax?? For performance and sound Ive been advised that i should replace them with 40 series Flowmasters - just wondering what others have done or any alternative suggestions. cheers.

My suggestion is to take a ride if possible with somebody who has Flowmasters on their car. I have had 2 sets of Flowmasters and they were both very loud. If you are on the track and wearing hearing protection, that is OK. But if you want to drive on the street and talk to a passenger in the vehicle, you will be challenged. Just my 2 cents. I also had a friend who had Flowmasters on his 69 Boss 302 and same conclusion - too loud. He had the muffler shop take them off and I believe he went with some Walker brand mufflers. Good luck whatever brand you go with.

I had 40 series flowmasters on my car and the drone in the cabin at cruising speed was mind numbing. I switched to 50 series and love them but, I was never the type you want everyone to hear me coming 3 miles away.
