65-66 Quick Steering Kit

I agree, it sure beats walking through junkyards and swapmeets looking for the part you need. Not to mention having to wait for the next swapmeet while one part stops your project dead in its tracks.

Could you measure the overall length of the Pitman arm and the length from center of hole to center of hole for me????????

I recently bought a quick steer kit and the idler arm is longer than stock, but the pitman arm seems to be stock length, I'm making a road race car out of a 65 Coupe that was originally a 6 cylinder car, so I do not have a v-8 pitman arm to measure for a reference.........

Pretty cool my congratulations!
I don`t know the length, but you are right it´s
exact 1" longer. I compared a standard
with an quick steering kit before.

Thanks for the measurements.........now I'm screwed, the idler arm is 6", but the pitman arm is 5" (found a 65 V-8 Mustang and crawled under it and measured the pitman arm, same exact legnth as the one I bought) and when I spoke with the company I bought the stuff from, they told me that was the correct length for "their" quick steer kit.............

Anybody got an extra 6" long pitman arm laying around you don't need??????

Thanks for the info, I did check a few other "Mustang" places, they only sell them with the quick steer kit.......I'll check into this other place................

Actually I had the idler arm from another project and only needed the pitman arm, so I ordered one and they honestly thought they were sending what I needed, turns out it was a "Stock" pitman arm, they have agreed to take it back and refund my money, ordered one from Jim @ shelby parts and it was actually 30 bucks cheaper than the stock one, looks like Jim will be getting my business from now on......

I also "found" one on e-bay, supposedly a NOS Shelby pitman arm or at least the add says so, when I e-mailed and asked for the length and if it was indeed a Shelby pitman arm or rather a stock item, I was told it was a stock item and all of a sudden the e-bay item was pulled with 5 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if I had not asked for the measurement I would have an extra stock length arm and been screwed a second time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
