Re: New Member Welcome to ShelbyForums.com We have numerous replica owners and it's always good to have another on board.
Re: New Member I have a FFR. Just a great car. Went together fine and looks like a replica, not a kit car or what some thinks a Cobra looks should look like. Would do another one in a second.
Re: New Member well here goes, as far as I can see, they are all replicas unless the vin starts with csx2xxx or csx3xxx.
Re: New Member No way, they are not all replicas. To me a replica looks and feels like the car it is trying to duplicate. This includes the bad things about the car. There are so many kit Cobras out there have stretched bodies, giant interiors, wrong ride heights etc. These cars are just brutal. If you can tell from 500 feet away that it isn't real then that is a kit. If you have to get underneath and ask questions then you have a replica. Iam sure with your ERA you get asked all the time if it real. If say you had a West Coast Cobra kit the first thing people would ask is "who's kit is it?"
Re: New Member I picked up my Shell Valley kit mid November 2004 and I'm about 60% complete. Should be on the road this spring. Its a great kit and a blast to build.
Re: New Member No, mine was in true kit form....lots of parts and a gel coated fibreglass body. The body is so straight that it won't take much work before laying on the color. I'm sure your friend will be very pleased with his. By the way, you could'nt ask for any better guys to deal with that the folks at SV. Their service and support is outstanding.
Re: New Member Plane, Did you go to SV east or west? We went to east and did not like his operation at all. Very dirty and finished cars did not look straight. Thats when he decided to go to Nebraska. They are finishing the car there and shipping direct to my friend. Pat
Re: New Member At first, I tried to deal with SV east but they wouldn't even return my calls. Thats when I called Dana at SV west and they were extremely helpful. We had many hoops to jump through to get it into Canada but SV west came through with flying colors.
Re: New Member Also new on board. My Superformance #1980 arrived in December, 2004. Color is Viper Steel Gray with a 418W from Performance Engineering in Ohio. This is a street version with full bumpers, undercar exhaust, no roll bar, S/C dash and a hood scoop w/o rivets. Looking forward to learning a lot from the members of this board. Terry
I have a 65 SPF Cobra Replica. Titanium with Indigo Blue Stripes. 392 Stroker purchased from Dynamic Motorsports Ross Oh in 2002. Great performing car and a blast to drive. Don't care it is a replica and everybody loves to hear it run.
Welcome in! I've got SPF1410, street version. It's nice to see that all owners are welcome to this group!
Hi all, I have a Factory Five that took my wife and I a couple of years to build. Same color as my friend Jim Brown's SPF above. This site looks like a new favorite place for me to visit. BTW, There is a real active group of replica owners in Oregon and Washington. Are there any others active on this forum from around here?
Wow those are some great looking cars .Allan a freind of mine was wondering about those goodyears you have with the big letters were is the best place to get those and what would he expect to pay ? Thanks.
My tires are the Good Year Blue Streak Specials that are a NON DOT tire made for the Cobra's and sold by Roger Kraus Racing in California. Follow the link I provided above and look at section B, a set will cost about $850 shipped. Sorry that I so long winded on giving you the price. Cheers
