    Carroll Shelby Offers Enthusiasts the Ultimate Affordable Musclecar -
    Shhh, Don't Tell the Guys with the V8's

    LAS VEGAS, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Big block and small block V8 owners of all types may want to take a second look the next time a "V6" Mustang pulls up to the light as Carroll Shelby International Inc's (OTC: CSBI) wholly owned subsidiary Shelby Automobiles, Inc. announces the new Shelby CS 6 Mustang concept vehicle. Shelby Automobiles, known for speed and performance through the leadership of legendary racecar driver and Cobra creator Carroll Shelby, will offer a modified V6-engined 2006 Ford Mustang, dubbed the CS 6. Packed with a NOVI-1200 Supercharger from Paxton Automotive Corp., the CS 6 is destined to be the next great sports car from Shelby Automobiles pumping out an incredible 350+ horsepower. The Shelby CS 6 will be introduced at the Vortech/Paxton Booth (#22853-Central Hall) during the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
    The CS 6 features a Shelby-exclusive Paxton NOVI-1200 Centrifugal Supercharger, unsurpassed in high performance, reliability and quiet operation. The bolt-on NOVI-1200 is based on Paxton's race-proven gear case, helical-cut gears constructed from billet-steel, aerospace-quality high-speed bearings and an air/water charge cooler. The CS 6 will be one of the most powerful supercharger kits for the V6 Mustang available on the market and its 350+ HP is a significant increase over the 210 HP of the stock Mustang and the GT version.
    "Shelby Automotive is excited to offer the CS 6 with a focus on balance, performance and affordability," said Amy Boylan, President of Shelby Automobiles. "With the Paxton Supercharger, the suspension modifications and the subtle cosmetic enhancements, the CS 6 will remind enthusiasts of the old GT350 -- fast and strong but light on its feet. There is going to be a lot of excitement from speed aficionados when the CS 6 hits the market."
    2005 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Paxton-supercharged Shelby Mustang legacy dating back to the famed GT350 and GT500 programs in the late 1960's.
    In 1965, Carroll Shelby fitted a prototype Paxton Supercharger to the GT350 starting the Shelby/Paxton relationship. Eleven total Paxton supercharger kits were installed by the Shelby factory and a number of additional kits were sold to customers for retro installation. The CS 6 stands poised to continue the great Shelby/Paxton tradition of producing consummate performance-modified autos.
    The Shelby CS 6 is racing-styled in the custom of great Shelby cars from the past but updated to create a unique and modern design. Among the interior and exterior modifications to the CS 6:

    * Custom hood
    * Custom brakes
    * Custom 20" American Racing wheels
    * Shelby Automobiles badging

    Available in the first part of 2006, the Shelby CS 6 will be sold through Shelby Automobiles Las Vegas headquarters and a national dealer network. Interested buyers can contact Shelby Automobiles at (702) 942-7325 or visit the company's web site at http://www.shelbyautos.com for more info.

    Give me the Paxton and the brakes. The front light are way to small in the grill. Stripe on side is to TransAm-ish. Wheels, would look better with a modern version of a 69 5 spoke.

    But how much? I've read info all over the web about this car and the GT version, but not once have I seen what they're asking for it.

    The Shelby CS6 Mustang!

    Back in the 1960s we were in the business of turning Ford's Mustangs into world-class muscle cars for the street and the track. Our Shelby GT350s and GT500s are now some of the most sought-after performance cars in the world.

    With the release of the new GT500 next summer and with all the other aftermarket activity centered primarily around the 2005-6 Mustang GT and its V8 engine, we decided to do something for all those V6 Mustang owners out there and provide a package that would turn that V6 into a real performance muscle car.

    This past summer we began designing our package and bringing in partners like Paxton Superchargers, American Racing Wheels, Baer Brakes and Borla Exhaust to supply some of the industry's premier performance enhancements. We developed our own hood, fascia and grille designs to achieve a distinctive look for our Mustang.

    Then we took it one step further and decided to serial-number our cars on special dash plaques and engine plates ensuring their enduring value into the future.

    What we have created is a intercooled, supercharged V6 Mustang that will eat up any stock V8 Mustang GT on the road today in the areas of raw acceleration, top speed, quarter-mile ET, cornering, and braking, and look fantastic doing it. We are scheduled to start upgrading customers' V6 Mustangs on March 1, 2006. Check our website for an order form soon, and let the new legend begin!

    We have broken this package down into two stages. With Stage 1 ($5499*) you get all the looks without the performance enhancements, and with Stage 2 ($14,999*) you get both the looks and the performance.

    What a Good Looking CAR !!!

    If you look at the design hints and the special serial numbers applied to this car, It appears that Mr. Shelby realized how SVT and Ford is mucking up the 07 GT500, and is putting into place Options for the V6 and V8 GT Mustangs, and as soon as the GT500 comes out they will have a package ready for the GT500.

    I think he relized that Ford and SVT are getting it wrong and he will hope to correct their mistakes and the changes in the design he had originally envisioned. :) :)
    He wont tell Ford that, but he will just look at capitalizing on their eneptness.

    THE CS 6 looks way better than the planned GT500, with all the changes. IMHO...

    I might have to re-think what I want to purchase... A FORD / SVT GT500 product that may or may not have specialized serial numbers, may or may not have Shelby Badging on it, may or may not look exactly like a Mustang GT just with a HP engine, and is not truely a Shelby Car. :whistle:

    OR, A True Shelby built from at Mustang GT or V6 and turned into a CS6... Hmmmm... I like the Idea of owning a True SHELBY vehicle, instead of and SVT Product. :) Just gives you pause for thought.

    Since West Coast Customs is only going to do a limited run of these upgraded V8 Mustang GT's of 25 cars.

    Hopefully Shelby Automobiles will decided to have a Mustang GT package similar to the V6 Package...the " CS 6 Mustang" !!!

    They could do the exact same or similar upgrades, and call it a "CS 8 Mustang"
    That would be COOL !!!! :thumbsup: :whistle:

    Just have the New Appearance Package of the CS 6
    and then add the Supercharger, Upgraded Brakes, and Shelby Rear Facia.... and there you have it... The MUSTANG CS 8...... Wouldnt that BE NICE !!!!! :dance: Since there are less upgrades needed might only cost you 8 - $10,000 to upgrade your base Mustang GT. Then you'd have a Real Shelby for $35,000 - $38,000.

    At 39,000 plus the cost of the car , I predict very few of these we ever even be built,plus you have the warranty issues and who will repair if there is a problem.The REAL problem is that Shelby has gotten away from what is affordable to the common person, that tells me the West Coast model will be 100,000 or more, I'll stick with the Ford product , even if it means waiting a year or two.

    $39,000 would include the car. The stage 2 CS6 package is about $18,000 installed. A V6 Mustang coupe sells new for $20,000. You can bring costs down some since you could get a used 2005 model for the conversion.

    Robin,
    My bad, need to get my glasses cleaned. @39,995 they are in a place where many could afford this ,with the Ford units going at over MSRP, the number looks good.

    I love the looks of the CS6. Looks way better than the West Coast Custom Shelby. I wonder if you could get the CS6 package on a v8 car. Maybe just skip the supercharger.

    Speaking as (I think) the youngest guy here (anyone beat 19?) I think this is the best thing to hit American Performance Cars since the 60s. This car has the same power, price, and purpose as the 2005 Pontiac GTO, BUT this car has individuality, a more direct heritage, and doesn't look like a Grand Am. Sure, they stripes are ludicrous, sure those hood pins serve no purpose, and ok, the front end is a little unorthodox, but compare it to what people of my generation are driving. This is meant to give guys like me, who would pick a beater '79 Monte Carlo over a tuned '89 Honda. It may not be as exotic as the Shelbys of the past, but it might, hopefully, be a sign that guys of my generation won't be forced into foreign cars for our speed.

    I did some thinking about this recently actually. New VW GTI: 200 hp, light, reliable, great gas mileage, great handling and second only to Honda and the like in aftermarket availability. 2005 Mustang (v6 for the sake of price equality): on the other hand has 210 hp, heavier, less mileage, descent handling, and a laughable aftermarket (when compared to VW's options). And, I am sorry for saying this guys, but the new GTI doesn’t look to bad, and will get more girls. But then you bring in the CS 6. 350 hp is a big deal. No, it isn’t a super car by, but its as close as you can get while still being able to drive it on a daily basis. It looks new, acts new, and that’s because it is new. This car is designed to be for me, the new car guy. Is it a muscle car? Nope. It has a v6. But if that is all you lose to get better handling, better fuel economy (at $2.00+ a gallon on a college budget, fuel economy matters), and a CD player, then by all means, bring on the CS 6.

    jim

    o, and Carrol, if you want to pick some token American car loving American Teenagers to test drive a CS 6 and hype it up to some media people, I would gladly accept your offer.
