My car uses a hydraulic clutch actuation scheme (master cylinder and internal hydraulic throwout bearing), and the heavy clutch caused noticeable wear to the pivot points on the clutch pedals, and finally caused the throwout bearing to blow apart. I removed it and sold it for a song, then installed a proper Centerforce diaphram clutch. What a difference! It is about 1/4 the effort yet still holds up just fine to over 500 hp. I suspect once you ditch your Hayes clutch, your linkage will survive just fine. Mike
