Need some technical help. On a 65 Shelby, early car with over rides, they relocated the axle bumbers attached to the frame rails near the outer end of the axle. When the moved the bracket to the inside of the frame, what kind of rubber bumper did they use? Did they relocate the original or was it a cone shaped bumper with a threaded stud? I can't remember. Stan, I hate to ask you to get under 071. Any help anybody? THANKS

    Hey, Lee-
I may be getting old but I'm not THAT old. It's only a little after 10
p.m. I'm still up and wide awake. 5S071 is resting comfortably on nice,
grey carpet down in the heated, humidity-controlled garage so it was no
inconvenience to go down and re-confirm that they used the conical bumpers
with threaded studs thru the add-on brackets just as you thought.
If you need a digi-pic of same, let me know.
    Regards & Happy New Year,
    Stan

  3. old pictures

    Stan, Lee, everyone

Here are some old pictures of mine that I scanned in recently. If you go
to the actual picture, they are kinda large, so be aware.

The old pictures of 5S071 are with Lee driving at various locl
autocrosses. It can be recognizes by the Beach Ford Mustang Club bumper
sticker mounted in the right of he grill. The Magstars in the one picture
of it are the ones that are currently on our '68 GT350. The Kendall GT1
sticker on the door (according to Lee) was put there to cover over the
small rust holes that were forming :).

Most of the pictures have captions. Some newer pictures are mixed in the
bunch. If you know any of the missing info, let me know. I can't remember
the serial number of Bill Vose's old car for whatever reason.

    Re: old pictures

    Calvin-
Many thanks for taking the time to post these. They're great! My only
regret is that I wasn't behind the wheel back then! Lee (or Calvin): Tell
me about those big momma steel wheels on 5S071. Dimensions? Tire size?
Looks as tho they really filled out the fender wells!
    Regards, Stan
