Does this indicate that Stephen's sensing a (near-term) "top" in the market?

  2. This is from the e-mail reponses on his last auction # 4600072984 . Sounds like retribution to me.

"Q: Dear Mr. Becker, I noted this car has been on Ebay 3 times now wanted to know if there is a problem with the car. Also, I noted that you were having a liquidation sale. Does this mean you are
getting out of the business after all this time? If that's the case, do you think Shelbys will continue to appreciate or are they in for a fall. These reason I ask is because I intend to own one.

A: When the car was on e bay the first time a fraudulent bidder placed a bid and I had to get it removed but not before the bidder hit (and exposed) the reserve for a long period of time. It
compromised the auction. The second time the auction ran the high bidder did not understand that I am NOT a dealer and, as such, could not offer him financing. It is now running for the third and,
what I hope to be, final time. The car is a super car & is as represented and the past auctions failures have nothing to do with the car. As far as my personal situation goes I am getting out of the
business for at least a year. I have many other (outside of Shelby cars) successful business interests and, as such, am focusing on those companies. Additionally, my wife and I are having a baby in
March and I want to be able to focus on that blessed event for at least the first twelve to eighteen months. I (personally) see the market in a beginning-stage free fall right now. I think that the
auction companies will try to carry and support the market place for awhile but I think that with the war, higher interest rates, home-building going down and more consumer debt then ever, that these
cars are beginning to adjust to realistic levels. I maybe wrong (wouldn’t be the first time) and mine is truly an opinion from the inside looking out. I will still do some private, paid consultations
and higher end dollar deals I just won’t be available to take every phone call or reply to every e mail. It has been a fun 25 (+) years in the Shelby marketplace. Stephen

I find it interesting that on the failed second auction that it was not
offered as a second-chance offer to the second highest bidder.
