I see you got my voicemail message Colin. Thank you for not painting all brokers with the same paintbrush. Illinois isn't as uptight as Wisconsin in (probably) this one area only. As far as IL Secretary of State is concerned, we run a marketing website and nothing more because we do not buy to resell or confer title. I stepped into this mudpuddle because I to recognized that "sideways" dealing is the ultimate threat to the classic car collector, both hobbyist and the investment collector. Not all of us are as lucky to have owned 50 cars by age 20. I had 13 cars through my highschool and college careers. Buying one beater after another somehow doesn't equate to a vintage collection ranging from Alphas to 427 Cobras (very cool). Still I see that we are on the same side. Show Your Auto is my humble attempt make good process and national market reach accessible directly to the REAL private owners of these cars, NOT to enable pinhookers and protect long term owners from unwittly sell to "Flipper". (Not that they haven't tried) Hopefully we'll turn the tide against "Large Private Buyer and Sellers" who want the gold and glory without the blood and sweat that goes with it. Here's to a Dolphin Safe marketplace! I have no problem with guys who tell me straight up that they want to broker a deal, tell me what they want, and I wire their fee to them and the purchase price to the owner. And I won't even talk about the unscrupulous bastards that steal pictures, post a car for sale, and then pretend it is theirs and contact the owner AFTER they have a fish on the line. Ok, I am stepping off the soap box now.
