Is anybody out there suprised by the prices at BJ this
year? Looks like Muscle is in, at least this month.

Those Mopars are nuts, are they really that rare??? I
would take a Shelby over almost any mopar anyday.

The guy that is trying to corner the market on the
Hemi Cuda Converts and paid 2MM for the orange one at
BJ, is now also buying Shelby's. I think he bought 4.
    Hmmm!

Privately, 1 71 cuda convert has traded for $5M this past fall. This was
after the cover of Hot Rod Magazine had the White cuda covert trading for
$3M this past summer. I think 11/12 were made and only 7 or 8 of 71 Cuda
    convert cars survive today.

If someone will pay $4M for a bus, I imagine $10M for a muscle car is not
    that far away.

Do I have to wait til the cheque clears before I get possession of the car?

  5. I was going to buy it, but since you put it out on the open market, I can't buy a car that has been shopped!!! LOL

Well if you ever have driven a 70 Hemi Cuda and a 69 GT 500. I would be
interested on which one you would prefer to drive. Frankly I have owned
Porsche and Ferrari which were real handlers and still some of my
favourites. But when it comes to American metal my GT 500 kicks the Hemi's
every time plus I can actually corner. I don't care what the specs say. I
will take my times at the club drags and prove those specs wrong and I am
running a stock drag pack Auto with 3:93's. Anyone for a pink slip run on
like stock vehicles. I am so tired of the Hemi thing.. They were the
lesser vehicles produced. Glad to see they are at a premium and well done
for it. But if I hade to pay a million for one or the other I would take
the Shelby any day. That is my two cents!

  7. Driven both and the Shelby would be my pick of these two in a straight line. We had one in our circle of friends (Hemi Cuda convert) during the early 70's and my street racing days. Was not worth running in our area for money races. But at that point Fords weren't doing very well on our streets either.

    Randall,
I agree with your comment of being sick of the Hemi
thing. The mopars seem to bring big money but to me
they do not have the mistique of Carroll Shelby,
uniqueness of a Shelby, Race history etc... In my
book the Shelby's should be worth twice of a Mopar.
I would love to find a project shelby but it seems
they are hard to find these days.

I did get to ride in a 71 Hemi Challenger last year. The torque and hp were
impressive, but a well tuned CJ GT500 will keep up nicely and a Boss 429
    gets her done as well.

Anyone used to or still dragrace a GT500? A good friend tells me he and his
buddies prefered a C-6 over a toploader any day.
