Need an answer from the experts out there. A restorer I am NOT! Bought a new door data plate and rivets and I suspect one has to somehow do something with the rivets to make them expand as they just fall in and out of the hole in the door. Help! How do I expand these little suckers to make them stay in place? Ron
Take a center punch that fits inside thehole and give it a rap, you can also use a phillips screwdriver >From: "Ronald Robertson" <ronald.robertson (AT) sympatico (DOT) ca> >To: "Shelby Mustang" <shelbymustang (AT) carmemories (DOT) com> >Subject: Hopefully changing the subject >Date: Sun, 29 Jan 2006 12:40:55 -0500 > >Need an answer from the experts out there. The variables are the diameter, and the grip length. Some rivits are very deep, enabling you to secure panels that are very thick, while others are much shorter and are appropriate for affixing a tag to sheetmetal. Mike
Mike: These are the correct rivets as supplied by Marti. I would not give them a 'rap'. these rivits are soft so you should only have to put the center punch or 'nail set' in ang give a bit of a push bob
