1/30/2006 Ron & Group, Installation of Door ID Rivets: We place the rivet and crush by tapping on the back side. You need to be able to reach inside the door panel and have enough access to use a small tapping instrument, ( Like a 1" diameter round shaft ). Always hold the outside of the rivet in place, by placing the wood end of a hammer over the rivet head. I don't like the idea, of center punching the rivet. The factory rivets, we have looked at, have a convex appearance in the center of rivet. Hope this helps! A restorer I am NOT! Bought a new door data plate and rivets and I suspect one has to somehow do something with the rivets to make them expand as they just fall in and out of the hole in the door. Help! How do I expand these little suckers to make them stay in place? Ron
