door hinge repair-any ideas???

    the driver's upper door hinge on my 68 fastback is worn out....when you open the door, the door drops down. does anyone know anyone who rebuilds them? i don't want to replace the hinge, as it's on an original-paint car. thanks in advance!!! chris in ohio

    You might be able to rebuild it yourself if you are slightly mechanically inclined.
    Most Mustang parts sellers have a hinge kit available for this.

    Problem: you'll need a floor jack, some space, some patience, hammersocket and ratchet. I recall the repair kit even comes with instructions.

    It's not a terrible job Chris. Sometimes the worst problem is getting the old hinge pins out of the bushings.
