  1. I am planning to fly to Vegas for SAAC does Vegas. Won't have a Shelby at
the event this time, but will be at the host hotel. If anyone wants to look
    me up, please do.

behold, there was Carroll Shelby and his wife sitting at the gate, on the same
flight as me from DFW to LAX. We had a nice chat before the flight and he said

    couldn't be there as well....

  5. Las Vegas was pretty fun. Carroll was out there for the dinner friday and
at the track on saturday for about an hour and a half. The event really
centered at the race track, there were many real Shelby's on the track as well as
    several other Mustangs.
On the car show side, there were around twenty cars that made a display on
Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas and a sunday show of around 50 cars in
conjunction with a chilli cookoff at the Shelby facility.
Thanks to all from the western region that were there, it was a fun time.
It was nice meeting the members from the list that I did.

The Las Vegas event was a great one.
Perfect weather and lots of fun...
And just for the record I was driving the red Shelby that didn't hit the fence! (That was maier racing 's car # 53)

    My car was # 116....

Went through a few gallons of 110 octane fuel..

Carroll looked pretty good and ame by the track on Saturday in some huge international truck painted blue with white stripes.

Fremont street was wild. I had one gal actually open up my car door and attempt to get into the car.
Then tried to offer me whatever to get into the car...No thanks.. :)

    Thanks, Jim Elsmore

    >>>Several years ago at the national Pantera convention in Las Vegas, I

accompanied a guy from Seattle who bought a car out of Houston. I flew to Houston
a few days early, and spent a few days getting it ready for a road trip; he
then arrived, I picked him up and we blasted to Vegas.

During the car display on Fremont street, one of the city's finer citizens
sauntered up to the car, and before he knew what happened, she jumped up onto
the fender and hood in her high-heel shoes! The fender and hood were both badly
dented, to the tune of several thousand dollars. She was wrestled to the
ground by security from one of the casinos and subsequently arrested, prosecuted
and sent to jail for awhile....

Mike, Yep, I'm sure that she went to jail but did she pay for the damage to
    the guy's Pantera? Joe Bright.

    >>>Thank goodness for insurance.

His insurance policy was only three DAYS old when the damage occurred.
Fortunately he had a police report to back up his claim, and his insurance paid to
have the car fixed--it came out better than when he bought it, so after all
the hassles he came out happy in the end.

Mike, That type of damage is covered by insurance? Lord have mercy, I hope
Hagerty is that lenient. I mean what type of damage is that? Joe Bright.

It was an act of criminal vandalism that took place during a car show of the
    marque club.
