Hi Folks Could you please post some pictures of your 65 Shelbys export brace mounted in the engine compartment. I would like to see how it looks like where the export brace is mountened to the firewall because i heard there is an extra metal piece welded for more stiffness. Please help me out Thank you very very much! Bye Jerry
Sorry no picture but it is piece of steel that mounts under the fire wall. It reinforces the area againest flex. Hard to see unless you are looking for it.
Compounded by the fact that when it was welded on at the factory, they also covered it with a generous layer of sealant making it really hard to see when covered by the export brace. The absence of the stiffener brace under the export brace was one of the ways to tell a re-bodied Shelby from an original car. I think Branda markets the stiffener brace.
Hi Bill Thanks for you reply. So you say (just to get things right) the one welded ontop ist the original style? And the better choice. Bye Jerry
Check out the galleries on NVSAAC. There are some good pictures there. To me this is one of the most authenticating features on 65 and 66 Shelby's. It is very distict.
