Guys,

What amazes me is the "Buy it Now" price of $250k! I can't imagine buying
one of these for HALF that, but then I've never understood why a movie-based
clone restomod would be worth more than the real deal. Then again, I've never
considered buying one, and I really liked both versions of the movie!

Oh, well- CS is welcome to whatever he can make from these, and I don't doubt
that Unique does a good job turning a regular 67 fastback into "Eleanor"; not
to mention that the popularity of the second movie has had a beneficial
effect on real Shelby values, as I believe that they were just beginning to shoot
upward when the movie provided a little extra push with the "gotta have a cool
car" crowd.

Speaking of values, did anybody else get the Amelia catalog yet? There's a
65 GT350 R-model carrying a HUGE estimate. RM is not known to be shy in that
department, but WOW again.

Can't wait for Spring when I can start driving my cars and push the value
issues into a drawer for a while.

clone / recreation / tribute or any other word that is used to describe these

I didn't want to guess because the catalog was at home and I replied from my
office. The estimate is $650,000-850,000 for SFM5R102, headlined as "Shelby
American factory race team. 1965 SCCA B/Production National Champion. One of
only 26 R-models believed to survive." Obviously an incredibly significant
car, but that's a pretty big number.

How can they say the GT 350 R is one of three.....I hope that is a misprint. Car seems to have a good history but I agree, they are not bashful on the price. SEE Y'ALL
