Fwd: Paint......

Discussion in 'Shelby Mustang List' started by MikeLDrew@aol.com, Mar 8, 2006.

  1. Hi guys,

Attached are some photos that were shot today in the Detroit area, where my
GT-350 clone has just emerged from the paint booth. I haven't seen it yet, but
my friend Gary (a lurker on this forum as well) reports that the paint job is
    simply phenomenal!

Note the goof on the side stripes though! GT500 stripes were packaged in a
GT350 box and nobody caught it until too late! So that will obviously have to
    be corrected.

The area under the brake cooling scoops has to be painted satin black also.
    Here's a question though:

The front edge of the (original Shelby) brake scoops doesn't quite reach the
front edge of the quarter panel. They are probably about 1/16th of an inch
    short.

So. Is that entire portion of the body painted black, up to the body line
where the outside of the quarter panel meets the door jamb, or should there be a
1/16th inch vertical red strip on the quarter panel before where the black
starts, so that the black region lines up with the front edge of the scoop?

    Thanks!

    Mike

  2. Thought this might help explain

    from an original car
