Hi i have an '07 Shelby GT ( black w/ sliver metallic stripes ) ... i want to replace JUST the rear bumber stripes ..... where do i get them? ... only from Shelby? .... aftermarket???? what? thanks Ray Orofino please email me at: drb_4_me@hotmail.com if possible
I just purchased an '07 SGT and wanted to have the front bumper repaired and the bumper stripes replaced. The car came from CA and it had a front license plate bracket on it, so holes were in the bumper/stripe. In AZ we don't have any front license plate, hense the repair. I took the car to the authorized Flagstaff Ford dealer and the dealer told me that Shelby would NOT sell the silver tape stripes without a police report or insurance claim!! No exceptions! There seems to be various items on the Shelby GT (front fender badges, hood scoop, top stripes and side stripes) that cannot be purchased without a police report. I wrote to Amy Boylin and received a phone call from her customer service representative stating that Shelby does not want these cars to be cloned, so no police report, no parts! To me this is ridiculous and frustrating, in that all I wanted to do was have my car repaired. Reading this and other posts regarding silver stripes, it seems that some people have been able to just purchase Stripes from Shelby, but I haven't had the same experience. By the way, my car still has the holes in the bumper!!
If you have a Friend that is in Law Enforcement, have him write something up for you. OR...... Go to the Store and drag a Shopping Cart across the Front Bumper Face to damage the Stripes a little more then have a Report Made telling the Officer that you did it and that you do not want to press charges.........
Try going to a local Sign Shop and see if they can order the Vinyl and cut the Stripes. If I am correct, arn't the Bumper Stripes split........ A Piece in TOP of the Bumper infront of the Grill and then a piece on the Bumper Face and they over lap about 1/4 inch?
