    Greetings,

Just wanted to verify that the torque wrench setting for an original '65 Cobra oil pan drain plug is 15 foot pounds? (As you sure can't be too careful on these--given the aluminum).

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards,

    Neil

Sounds like it. Make sure it is flat even 15 lb torque may break one if some thing is under a edge and causes a bind on a corner or what not. I have done that on carb bases before. My torque wrench reading for aluminum valve covers and oil pans is the feeling in my wrist using a 1/4 drive rachet from so many times doing it. The 1/4 drive does allow for much torque . After breaking one or two is all it took to get the right feel . Bob

I have always used 20 foot pounds with a torque wrench on my COBRA oil pans. Never had any problems.
