    Hello,

    I currently own a 66 Mustang with a 289-2V with a Borg Warner T10 4 speed transission.

I am trying to locate the correct speedometer drive gear, Ford part number C6ZZ-17285A for the Borg Warner T10. I have turned to the Shelby Forum since the 65/66 Shelbys share a common transmission. Any idea where to 1. locate a NOS, reproduction or serviceable used or 2. modify a Ford toploader drive gear to to fit on the T10 shaft for the speedometer to work?

I have not pulled the rear housing off yet, but I have replaced the driven gear with the correct Ford p/n with little to no luck......it did make the speedometer needle bounce, so it was catching, but not working correctly so I believe the drive gear is also worn.

I have seen in various forms that the speedometer drive gear can be metal, but since mine did not work with a new driven gear, I believe mine is plastic.

    Any help would be great.

    Sean

have you replaced the speedo cable yet ? that, or the spedo itself, would be my first options to try.
