1966 GT 350 Rear Suspension Question

    Hi All,

    On my 1966 GT 350 with under rider rear suspension - I have a question please: The right side rear wheel area is showing much more space between the fender and tire than the left side rear wheel area. I am looking for advice on how I can "balance" out the right side to match the left side rear wheel area. Since the rear shock does not have a spring to trim how else can I "lower" the right rear of the car. Sorry for the long explanation. Thanks.

    Swap the rear leafs side to side to even wear or replace both with new.
    OR; Measure the difference, mill a lowering block and install on the right side..you could also buy a lowering block and machine it to the desired height.

    It is a little known fact that the 9 inch hipo rear ends need a longer leaf spring locating pin which is present on factory correct rear leaf springs . If the short locating pin on all replacement springs is left in maybe during a rear leaf spring change the rear end housing can actually shift side to side because it doesn't go far enough into the receptical it was designed to on a 65/66 9 inch housing. Just another possibility. Bob G.
