Runs perfect on 91 octane, with 9.8:1 compression ratio and aluminum heads, it may even be able to accept 89 octane. It is extremely quick and handles corners like a slot car. Car runs very cool due to the huge aluminum oversize radiator, blueprinted water pump and thermostat and its massive oil cooler. It is geared perfectly , with this transmission having a 3.06 first gear, and using a 3.25 rear end gear ratio (= 9.94 starting line ratio) ,in 1-4 gears it is equivelent to a close ratio Top Loader (2.32 first gear ratio) and a 4.30 rear end gear (= 9.97 starting line ratio ), then you have 5th gear, OVERDRIVE! So you get the best of both worlds, a serious street and strip car that you can drive on the freeway too. In Overdrive, engine purrs 2100 RPM @ 65 MPH , Calculated O.D. examples: 3272 RPM @ 100 MPH , 4580 RPM @ 140 MPH , 6200 RPM @ 190 MPH.
