I have a couple of questions regarding the '67.

Steering wheel- My spokes are a bit loose at the hub. Pretty annoying when driving. I guess not an uncommon problem. Is there anyone in business that can fix this problem or am I stuck with it? Contemplating buying the La Carrara wood wheel as a driver if I have no other choice. Any comments on that wheel?

Magstars- Had them restored/re-rimmed back around '88-'89. What choices do I have nowdays for a second time around? Was never really happy the 1st time as they could not be properly balanced and a couple of them would always leak down in a week or two. They are now rusting up looking pretty ugly. Can they be restored a second time as the centers were drilled and tapped for screws when previously restored?

    Thanks for the advice...

I have not experienced the loose spoke problem as being frequent. Mostly it is cracking of the wood ,and epoxy.the magstars can be restored a second time however not sure if it is worth it. When you had them restored before the rims are typically replaced with a current DOT compliant rim (with safety bead) .This is the way it has been for the last 20 years or more. The original wheels were riveted and didn't have cap screws like your re rimed wheels do. I would check into the re rim price and compare it to the price of a good repro wheel that looks more authentic. The ones from specialty wheel use a center that is identical and even have the K H markings . The specialty wheels are also riveted like original. specialty wheels also has superior chrome. Both styles use the same type DOT approved wheel rim. In the end the re rimed restored wheels are less then the original look when compared to the repro wheel from specialty wheel. I hope this information gives you options to consider. Bob
