I haven't bought it yet but on ebay there is a brochure I think from 1976 that had Shelby picture on it. It was either for the Cobra II or King Cobra. It's a white car with blue stripes. I was surprised by this because I thought after 1970 unti his recent raproachment (sp?) Shelby was not working with Ford. Maybe Shelby was away in Africa and they slipped this one by. I guess I will have to buy the brochure to find out more...this wasn't the car that started that lawsuit from Shelby over the name GT350, that was a later car. This is the Pinto chassied car. Anybody know what was happening then?
Henry Ford II was not ashamed to put that "II" behind a whole lot of cars. Including Mustang II, and the LTD II. There where Mustangs available back then in Shelby-like dress. Known then as the Cobra II. Gee, you could even option the car with that powerhouse 4 cylinder engine. What you are seeing on Ebay is just another example of some dummy trying to attach more value to something by adding that one word to the ad line...Shelby. There where no 76, 77, 78 Shelbys
Just another transparent attempt to impart more percevied value into a rather generic Mustang that has some decals on it. To try and get some interest in this car, the slime ball has inserted "Shelby" in his advertisement. shlby66
