If it wasn't bad enough dealing with early clone cars, now we have to deal with 2007 GT500 clones, Ebay # 230007089242 Where's Ford and Shelby now !!! are they just going to police the old cars ?? pretty bad the factory parts are avaliable to build clones before I get my car.

If a copy-type car is made before the original is available it cant be a clone it is a "prototype" or a protoclone or a clonotype:D

I am building one now. I got the front end pieces for way less than that e-bay auction. The only piece on back order is the round one on the rear between the taillights. I put in a 4.10 gear, aluminun driveshaft, and
Roush supercharger. I got A-plan on the car with every option available except automatic. Altogether I have about $35,000 in it and alot of time. I wanted a fake so I could mod the heck out of it and not worry about hurting future value, yet I loved the Shelby's look over the standard Mustang front end. I have the go-fast parts on and will start installing the front end and bottom stripes soon. So when I build a radical motor over the winter I won't be destroying a real Shelby.

So did you just source the parts from Ford? Can you say what you paid?

In the late eighties I worked in the parts department of a Ford dealer. Most of the people I worked with are still there so they still give me the employee discount. (10% over cost) I have less than $1000.00 in it and have everything but the hood. The round emblem between the taillights came in today. I don't like the Shelby hood and have not decided if I will use it or an aftermarket hood.

Just went to the local Ford dealer here in Daytona Beach to see the 2007 Shelby. I'm sorry to say I'm disapoointed with the car for the money they are getting for them. The white w/ blue LeMans stripe car on the showroom floor was already sold at $65K. The hood is a terrible design . It is out of proportion and none of the lines go with the shape of the car. Interior is nothing special and other than a couple of oversize snake emblems, there is very little to distinguish the car for $65K or even the sticker at $44K.

Unless they make some changes for 2008, I think I'll be building my own GT similar to the Parnelli Jones Edition Saleen.

Can't believe that the Shelby is almost 4,000 pounds!!

Will the CS6 hood fit with the other Ford parts?

I was wondering that also. I like that hood alot better than the GT500 hood.
