I went to the Machine shop yesterday. My 1ub polished up at standard/standard.My standard block will been to be punched out .30 . one piston had a cracked skirt & nicked the wall in 1 hole a bit. This is in a 69 GT-500,the Date codes on the engine are 8L23.Do I need the 692 Gram slugs or the 712's. Scott's H's 428CJ page lists that On Dec 26 1968 the 692's were replaced by the 712 gram weight pistons. My date code is 3 Days earlier than the swap date of the pistons???
Are the 692's what I need?It seems so but I wanted to check with the Experts this one.
Can you get new pistons with the weight difference or not.Just wanna Make sure.
Any ideas on what pistons to use.I'm thinking TRW's....
I need an Oil Pan with correct baffle for the CJ too.Any body got a spare,I Only have 1 arm AND 1 leg left.
    I'm Hemorrhaging cash here...........
Anyone running a PI intake?I'm not gonna put "Texas" back on top of my engine-Just to heavy.
I may need to get one of those too.
What about the Blue Thunder Intakes? Will the fit correctly without changing carb height. Are they the same height as the PI &
    stock intakes?
    Thanks
