65-66 GT350 Breather Caps

Discussion in 'Shelby Mustang List' started by Dave McDonald, Jun 3, 2005.

  1. The list has been pretty slow lately so here's a picky question I've
been curious about. I know all 65 and most 66 GT350's came with the
"California" breather with the oval FoMoCo stamp on the top. I have
seen a few late 66's with a rectangular FoMoCo stamp. There is a
current repop with the rectangular stamp but I don't think it has the
spot weld "dimples" like originals have. To my knowledge there isn't a
    repop with the oval script.

Any 66 owners out there with original caps that have the rectangular
FoMoCo stamp? I'm trying to figure out if these were original on 66's
and if so about where in the production sequence they showed up.

    Thanks,

When I bought my 66, it had a chrome breather with the rectangular "FoMoCo",
but no tube for the breather hose. Then I realized that the car had a
Paxton early in it's life. It may even have been added at Shelby, when the
car was new, but I have no proof...........Yet. To throw a wrench in to the
works (so to speak), is this the correct breather cap for cars that were
    optioned with the Paxton supercharger?

Looking forward to your comments and suggestions.
