I've been thinking about diving into another restoration . Anybody know where there's a '65 GT350 that's in need of a restoration? I'd be interested in anything dead or alive as long as serial numbers are intact. Any leads would be appreciated...

    Thanks

Figure about 200,000 just to get started, last year I had looked at a few cars ,most were beaten to death and had very few original parts left,a large amount of cars were and are raced so you can imagine what might be left.

Build a nice clone. The market does not need another serial number from heaven. The market also doesn't need another cowl inducted low-rider with a 2000 dollar stereo radio. There is nothing shameful about building a faithful replica.. 65 fastbacks are expensive and disappearing fast so hurry.

    Wayne,

Contact Pete @ Orlando Mustang, he's got a 65 road racer available, #146. I am not sure of the price, I want to say $150k, but don't quote me. Click on the link to view. You'd have to inquire, but I don't think many of the original parts are with the car, but it is worth the call and Pete is worldly with all things Shelby. You can get his numbers from his webpage.

Looked like a pretty nice candidate for restoration to bring back to life until I see that the inner fender aprons have been removed including all of the VIN numbers :(.....that kinda kills the car. I think just about anything can be saved except for a missing VIN...

Pete @ Orlando Mustang emailed me this afternoon and he has another 65 with two motors, not matching numbers. Don't know of condition.
