65 Hood pin plate hole diameter?

    Can someone please measure the diameter of the hole in the hood-pin plate that mounts to the hood?

    I have two plates, one with a small (1/2" diameter) hole, and the other has a large 7/8" hole. I'm guessing neither is correct.

    The small one is too small, and the large one looks too large.

    I measured one of the NOS plates I have in S1MS marked bags
    and it's exactly 9/16".

    Jeff,

    I agree with Texas Swede. I still have the original plates on my 66, just tried to measure one as best I could with it on the car and looks to be 9/16". Makes sense as the original hood pins are exactly 1/2".
