65 Shelby Rear Axle Tag

    Hi,
    There is a rear axle tag presented as one from a 65 GT350
    on Ebay at present. Buy now price is set at $400.
    My car and my friends cars don't have any tag at all
    on the original rear axles.
    Has anybody seen, or better yet, still have an original
    tag on their car that they can publish a picture of?

    Texas Swede,

    I just crawled under 5S426 and my tag looks identical to the one on e-bay except it has 5BC which I think is the date code. I am not sure if I can get a good shot of my tag becouse I have a 2 1/2 inch rear exiting exhaust near the housing. My tag is installed vertically on the nut the would be at about the 8 o'clock position looking towards the rear.

    Thanks a million. This means that I need to get one as well.
    My third member is dated 5B17, i.e. Feb 17, 1965 which means
    that my tag must be very close to yours, 3:rd week of Feb., 1965.
