I have been offered a 67 shelby steering wheel. it has Made in italy on the back, and is patented, INT Also it has eppi on back i think. is this right ? If not what should it have ? THX, John
Sounds like it, but, I've seen similar ones on ebay...missing: 1) the correct horn contact area, 2) the black plastic moulded in at the wood/spoke joint. Beware, there is an Italian car, maybe Fiat, that used a very similar wheel. Oh, and Tony Branda's "Christmas flyer" has a repop in it for $2500.00 How long before somebody buys one for that, and puts it on ebay as an original?
I can tell you one and all that Repop is no way to describe this "Work Of ART"! the wheels Branda and Mustangs Unlimited are selling can only be detected when off the car as the Horn Contact design is much more advanced than the Archaic design used in 1967. these horns actually work! and the "Metal Rim" that the wood is Steam bent around just like the originals is made of Stainless Steel instead of just Steel like the originals!! after 40 years it turns out they are rusting at the Welds and you may end up with a wheel in your hands but not on your steering column!! these Steering wheels are so right on, that Dave Mathews the 67 Registrar of SAAC is involved with the program!
