68 4-speed console removal

    How do you get this thing out??? do you need to remove the handle?

    The handle can stay on, but take the knob off and the chrome bezel. It is helpful to pull the seats out. There are two screws in the box and probably one by the glovebox.

    OK well we had to take the handle off but I think our whole problem was that the last person to put the console in reinstalled the end plate on the console that sits under the dash backwards and was catching the carpet the more we picked up on the end! Guess that's what when you are the third place to work in the car! We work on only mustangs so he should of just brought us the car first now we have to install the smog and the motor is already in due to one other shop telling him it never came with smog!!!

    And for bezel are you taking around the boot? Cause they had it under the console

    The end plate comes off, thats how you access the gauge wires to disconnect

    OK so when we go to hook them back up we take the plate off with the console in place? The last shop left all kinds of stuff disconnected! Tach, console gauge light grounds and the oil gauge wasn't working, side markers weren't working so we have a lot if work to do

    Yes. Plate goes on after everything is installed
