Ok got the car running today but the alternator gauge does not work, already checked the alternator it is working. So does anyone fix these gauges? cause the new SW ones say amperes and not alternator

Did you check the wiring to make sure it was intact and properly hooked up?

I bought new wiring for the gauge and hooked it up the same as the other 68 we are working on that has a working gauge.

Did you try reversing the wires on the back of the amp gauge. Disconnect battery first.

We had to do that on the other one we were working on to get it to work the right way the people he had restore the car installed it wrong. So The one is hooked up exactly the same way as the one with a working gauge. We get no needle movement what so ever!
