68 Shelby Center Console Removal

My automatic shifter is a little sloppy and I want to replace the bushings. The mounting bolts for the shifter are under the wood grain console and I have to remove the console or at least get it out of the way enough so i can get to the bolts. Does anyone know where the screw mounts are for the console and the best way to remove? I know the gauges are electrical and not mechanical. I have heard that you should remove the stereo and or the seats to remove the console. I am hoping this is not the case, but I will do if necessary.
