My Totally Hot Car: 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 Cobra February 10th, 2009, 6:10 am · 14 Comments · posted by Matt Degen Behold this beast: Frank Chirat, of Mission Viejo, sums up his ‘68 Shelby Mustang GT500 Cobra like this: “Loud, very loud. Fast, very fast. Fun, my baby.” Chirat is the third owner of this rare ride, and has had it for 29 years. He has reason to be proud of it, too: “Multiple concours show winner. Three Best of Show, nine First Place awards. Featured on Meguiar’s Car Crazy Central, Best of Show Playboy Mansion, Driven on two Musclecar 1000 tours, including San Francisco, Yosemite, Napa,” he writes. The car underwent a ground-up restoration in June of 2007, and boy does it show. More details below, along with the photos worth many more words. Congratulations, Frank: Your car is Totally Hot.
