In 1973 I bought my first two shelbys,a 1969 fastback and an early 66 GT350.
The personalized license plates were just out and I got 1 GT350 .

I joined the Shelby Owners Assn in approx 73 which became SAAC in about 76.
While at SAAC1 ,I got CShelby to autograph my early 66 shelby above the radio . Signatures weren't very common back then. I dont remember seeing any.
I bought a 69 convertible in SantaCruz when I lived there in about 1978
and received a peoples choice in
SAAC at Monterey / Leguna Seca 1980 where I took the dash of my 69 and hunted down the signatures of Pete Brock, Dick Smith, C Shelby and another whom I forget now.
Colleen Kopec took a picture of Dick Smith signing my dash while I held it and she placed it in the Marque. I dont remember the issue or the page, but it is the issue after Monterey leguna seca Nat Conv on the page that has the Daytona coupe and an article "what is grudge racing" Funny I remember that but not the year and issue. I seem to have lost many of my marques and that was one of them. If anyone can find the issue, please let me know what it is issue number and date is.
I also got a peoples choice in Pasadena SAAC National convention. While there I saw my first 66 GT350 convertible and the guy wanted less than 6000 for it.
I wanted to buy it but that meant selling my convertible 69 I had just bought and restored. So I passed (what an idiot)
I have lots of "idiot stories about me" woulda shoulda coulda..you know.

In 1984 I lost interest and stored the cars. Eventually I sold the 69 fastback and the 66. The 69 convertible I have had stored from 84 to date.
I just renewed my interest a few months ago, but wont have time to fix it up for Fontana SAAC 30. By the way, I lost my passenger seat somewhere along the way. Anyone got one for sale?
This was written without any planning, so certain details arent readily available to me, like dates, serial numbers etc. If anyone want to know details email me ,but I'll have to take time to locate the info, as everything is in storage
eventually I may add pictures and any details.
