Date - 10B: Feb, 10th, 1969 D.S.O - ??? shouldn't there only be one number, not three? 84, 25, 64 Axle - 6: 3.00 to 1 gears Trans. - U: C-6 Auto So, does this look right? I used a vin decoding site I googled, then wrote it down. I'm sure some of you here have the codes memorized
As far as I know all special ordered cars have a 6 digit number instead of the DSO kode. I read somewere it's a order number that are used. You see this on all special order Mustangs, like the ones with a special ordered color.
Correct - the 6 digit DSO (for special order vehicles like buses and police cars) contained the 3 digit district where the order originated followed by the order number (the following 4 digits) that matched all the ordering forms (upper left hand corner on the main form) that specified the differences or additonal parts/work needed In the case of the Shelbys, the cars were ordered in groups so each group received a different DSO (last 4 digits) number
That would make seven digits....I only have six. Would it be the 1st 2, then the last 4? Sorry if I am just being silly and not understanding this, but thanks for the help!
Well thanks to vincent liska, he helped me understand the dso. "you dso 842564 is a work order number for a group of shelbys all build the same. i.e. 842564 are all fastback gt500 auto with a/c i.e 842563 are fastback gt 500 auto “without a/c” and so on." Thanks Vincent~!!!!1
