? about 1968 GT500 shock towers

    Can anyone tell me if all the 68 shelby GT500 cars got the big block shock towers ?

    In theory yes. I've seen a car that didn't and another where one side got it and the other didn't. Don't forget under the heading of reinforced shock towers GT 500s (and possibly a couple early KRs) get the welding reinforcement which is different from the wrap around reinforcement of later CJ (KR) equipped models.

    I heard on Speed Channels Dream Car Garage that all KRs had the wrap around shock towers because of the CJ.
    All the early GT500s did not because they had the PI.

    Kind of...Most KRs have the wrap arounds, but then again, so do many other cars. As Tim said, GT500s, but I have seen GT350s with them as well.

    The reason I said possibly is I have seen several of the first CJ Mustangs (not KRs) with the welded reinforcements instead of the wrap around. These were April cars not the 135 cars. I haven't seen them on a KR but logic says a few might have slipped through.
