For a long time now I've wanted to get into vintage A-sedan/Trans Am racing, but I've never lived in an area where there was a contigent and a good track close by - until now. I just moved to Las Vegas, awesome track here, southern Cal tracks 5 hours away, and I'm not getting any younger so I thought now might be the time.

My questions are; who are the sanctioning bodies that run vintage (66-72) style racing?

I don't have pockets deep enough to be buying an original T/A car with a log book from the 60s, but have the budget for a re-creation of the type - do these sanctioning bodies allow this?

Where would I get a driver's school? I had an SCCA license 10 years ago, but that was for Solo I/II driving.

Any thoughts or inputs would be appreciated!

Check out Historic Trans Am for some really neat photos and bios. SVRA is another site to check out.

Wow! Did not know the original series was being "re-run"! I'd seen some original cars run back in the 90s when Shelbys were the featured marque at the Monterey Historics, but had no idea that they were running more than just a race a year. Looks awesome!

Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

Still looking for someone who's doing vintage racing...any takers?
