This "rare" "vintage" poster is for sale on ebay. Read listing......apparently Carl Shelby was there doing autographs! Best Regards, Vern
First time I heard the name Carl associated with Shelby. Carroll's grandson is named Randall and he lives near Dallas so I'd believe an autograph by him and would like to get one if I ever meet him in person. Carroll Shelby was named after a fire and brimstone preacher who must have been popular in Texas sometime during the 1910 to 1922 period but I could never find out if that was the esteemed gentleman's first name or last name. I figured Shel's ma named him that because it would keep him away from the temptations of the devil. A fat lot of good that did! Or maybe it was the same theory as Johnny Cash's song "A Boy named Sue" in that if you gave your boy a girlish sounding name, he would grow up to be a two fisted brawler defending his name in grade school. It's not as bad as my former dentist, a guy whose first name was "Shirley."
I'll spare them the embarrassment of giving out their name but a well known Ford dealer was having CS appearing at a show at their dealership last summer. When the flyers came out they said "special guest Carol Shelby". One quick phone call to them and it was fixed.

I had that same picture/poster hanging in my garage a few years ago. It's not rare............they used to be available at most swap meets. Although it might be worth the money if Carl signed it.
Well, he is not saying the the Poster was signed.....he is saying that Carl was there signing Cars. It must have been Carl signing Cars because it was at an SCCA event. Carroll was at the SAAC event.........LOL. David.
