I have a set of Branda 15x7 10 spoke repops that aregoing on a '68 GT350. What is the biggest size tire I can use on all four corners, without rubbing? Thanks
I would not go above 225-15's I had 235's on a 67 for years with no problem and then hit the perfect angle turning into a parking lot that had a greater than normal rise and it damaged the fender at the wheel lip. The wife still has 235's on her 68 and they rub over every good bump!!!! She refuses to change them. I think she is just CHEAP!!!! Dominic
I have 235R60-15s on my '67 with rolled fender lips. They work out fairly well except when the rear is heavily loaded (passengers). I remove my rear seat and replaced it with a '66 rear package tray to reduce the weight back there. No issues now.
On my 67 I have 215/65-15 on 10-spokes on the front. I put some lowering springs on it once (fender opening well below the top of the tire) and they rubbed any time when turning and hitting a bump. I raised the car back up to where the fender opening is about 1/2" above the top of the tire and it only rubs with the wheels cranked all the way over when hitting a bump - usually in reverse. IMO 225/60 would scrape all the time if the car is lowered. 235/60 fits easily on the back.
