Hi gang, Ever since I had a schlocky outfit in Portland "overhaul" my '67 GT500's original C6, it hasn't worked right starting immediately upon reinstallation after the resto 3 years ago. I'd've been better off doing nothing but cleaning the outside of it. Finally I had my local hot rod genius come out to my shop and he installed a new high performance valve body. A short test drive this afternoon showed that some of the problems have been rectified, but not all. Before: It would shift out of 1st way too early, and skip (rev up briefly) going into 3rd. After: It shifts out of 1st at about the right time, but way more smoothly than when it was new or at any time up to the resto & overhaul. Also, there's still that split second of reving up as it is inbetween 2nd & 3rd. Any ideas? It's a Transgo, I think, valve body, new. I just checked the box, but I'm getting senile so I can't quite remember now that I've walked back here to the house. The tranny is good enough for crusing around, but it's not right yet. Thanks for the leads on the throttle actuator rod. I have one now from Mansfield and the next thing we're going to do is sort out the rich running carbs and work over the linkage operation. Then, after getting the voltage regulator calmed down a bit I think the car will be ready for its first somewhat long run...to the Portland Histrionics to meet new Shelby friends from this List. My Haggerty coverage including towing is paid up, and I'll have the Suburban in chase! Roger =================== It's from Roger and Jane!
