I would like to replace my back window on my 1968 Shelby GT500 as it has a deep sratch that can't be buffed out. My Shelby does not have ac and the glass is clear. Are there replacements or aftermarket car-lite windows that would be considered approved for concorse judgeing? many thanks, brian
Actually all 68 fastback rear windows are tinted reguardless of ac or not. There are places that can put the insignias in replacement glass, I'm not sure who they are. My 68 has all its original glass and has some deep scratches in the rear glass as well. I've gone back and forth about replacing it and decided to keep it as is. There is something about glass that has survived 38 years thats kind of cool. Plus I figure someday they will come out with a product to repair it. Tim
Watch out. Carlite changed the emblem, so, if you buy a newer Carlite glass the judgees will see that. And of course the date code must be correct. Look in a Hemmings Motor News for a supplier.
OEM Glass adv's in hemmings every month .You buy the glass from them and they can etch the correct logo and date code for that concours correct look. Bob G.
