I've heard rummors of records that were recorded by Carroll Shelby back in the 1950'S. Has anyone seen or own any? Were they recorded racing engines or interview's with Carroll Shelby? Would they be available on CD'S? I have a large litature collection but have never run into any of his records. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bob
Look on ebay for the record that came with the 1968 AMT GT 500 1/25th scale model. Although the model is a 1968, the record clearly shows a 67 GT 500 on it. It has Carroll going up through the gears. The record is one of thos promo types printed plastic on cardboard. Sometimes you have to buy the whole model kit. And it is only in the original 1968 issue. One down, more to go.
Road & Track sells the record Only it is now a disc. Shelby is pictured on the cover driving a Ferrari or Maserati. You can contact R & T in Newport Beach and ask for the department that sells promotional items. I had it but gave it away because I thought it was a deadpan interview (not with the usual humor) maybe because it was done in some sound booth absolutely devoid of racetrack sounds; background noise, etc.)
The AMT model is supposedly Carroll Sheby driving the SuperSnake around Riverside. I have been picking them up on Ebay for awhile.
