I posted some parts for sale in the Shelby section, but this part has a small market, so to get it to the people who can use it most, here it is. I have a 6-Bolt original Cobra Scattershield for sale. It has been in a Ford collection for many years. I will sell for $2,000.00 Let me know if you have any questions. Ken 541-973-6211 or mustangmann@charter.net

    Thanks

    Ken,
So how does one tell an original scattershield from a repro? I have had a scattershield for close to 20 years but have never been able to determine if was orginal or not as I have not found anyone that has the secret decoder ring. Can you provide any insight?
    Thanks,
    Jay

Weight, the original are lighter,(thinner in one area) the ones Brian Kennedy made were actually nicer, but heavier. Somewhere I have the weights written down the originals were 34lb? the newer ones were 36lb? The first batch of repos had a real problem since they were not able to be used because they would not line up properly, scattershields always have to be dial indicated prior to being tightened to the block.
