Greetings all...like to share an very bad experience i recently had at Frontier Ford in Santa Clara California. I brought my Shelby in because the clutch was slipping and would not go into gear. I was also aware that there is a TSB technical service bulletin concerning the flywheel/clutch issues.
I spoke with the service adviser and he told him about the problem and also the TSB issues. He said he would have it checked out and get back to me.

Several hours later, he called and said that my clutch is blown out. That i need a new clutch. he also told me that the TSB does not apply since i was 6 days out of my 3yr/36k warranty. He added that my 5yr/60k warranty does not cover it either. (I have only 13k on my 2008)
I asked about the fly wheel if it was damaged or warped. He said it was perfect I asked if he looked at it. he said no. I then asked how would u know if it was perfect. He said that the fly wheel has nothing to do with the clutch burning out. ??? I asked to speak with the Service Manager and got the same song and dance. Needless to say, they did not help me at all. They did say they would call their corporate and see if they can work out a deal with me. To date folks, there has been no call. It's been 3 weeks!

I contacted Capitol Ford in San Jose California. They had me bring my vehicle in via tow. They checked it out and found that the TSB applied and ordered all the necessary parts including the fly wheel, by the way they checked, and said it was bad. They fixed it and it costs me nothing!

All Ford owners, please beware of the poor service and un-ethical business tactics at Frontier Ford. They made my experience very bad and I would never never buy or bring my vehicle there for any service. I am seeking legal counsel to look into their practices...KUDOS ! to Capitol Ford for stepping up and doing the right thing !!!!!

I also have a 2008 GT500; first clutch went out at 34k miles; Bartow Ford in Bartow Florida towed the car and paid for everything. Since I drive mine everyday to work, I now have 72k miles and the clutch has gone out again. I have not checked with the dealer but am sure they will tell me to take a hike since it is out of warranty. Any idea whether the TSB will cover if over 36k miles?
