Have recently begun complete resto of my 69 GT500. Have original engine and rear end, trans looks to have been changed at one time, but is correct vintage C-6. Was hoping to obtain correct part numbers for distributor and carb as these were changed at one time, also. Will be looking for other engine accessories (smog pump, tubes, etc) in near future and would greatly appreciate any direction in these areas.

    Regards,

    PapaDoc

    Carb - 69 automatic GT 500 428 CJ - Part # C9AF-9510-N - with an air-horn stamp of LIST # 4280

    Dist - C80F-12127-J

Smog system would be a date coded unit (back-fire canaster) based on the date of the engine build (see cast out build date on block)

Heads would carry a part # of C8OE-6090-N and would carry a cast date and thermactor in exhaust port(s) type set-up - I have also seen partial Ford numbers stamped in the back of some of the 69/70 Shelby heads

I can help you locate the different parts you need - feel free to e mil me when you are ready to go

Jim Elsmore's site (www.nvsaac.com) is a great site - Tons of pix and information on all year Shelby's - That was a great recommendation
