gosh i wish......nice looking car........was surprised as it isnt even a feature auction on ebay.....almost missed it when i was looking through the shelby Best Regards, Vern
The Car belonged to A friend Nick Nero here in KC. He had owned more then a few Cobras and GT40's through out his life. Lost him to the big C a few years ago. He loved that car. I was hoping his son would keep it or be able to keep it for a few more years at least. Nick had talked to me a lot about a CSX4000 car for his son before he passed. It was one of those deals were he found out and 3 weeks later he was gone . He really loved that car. A nice car but a little tired . He drove it often and hard. Bob
Nick wanted me to drive his car one day so he could look at it from another car. He had never seen it on the road. I led and he followed in my car. As it was someone else's car I drove it gently. After a few miles we came to a stop sign and Nick howlered out to me, "Make it go fast!" I did, and he enjoyed it. One of Nick's favorite sayings was "If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing"
It will be interesting to see what this car will bring. I have seen a few street cars converted to S/C’s, but they had the original engine and color.
That sounds like a great memory! I think that's a good thing. It really sounds like he enjoyed the car and that's what it's all about. Some people like putting them in a garage or museum and just looking at them and that's ok, but I always like to hear about the cars being driven and better yet, driven hard!!! Thanks for sharing! Randall
Was anybody else surprised by this result. But as the seller said in the auction, i think there might be more money for this one outside of eBay. Best Regards, Vern
