Watkins Glen NY, Lime Rock CT, Thunderbolt NJ, Summit Point WVA and Pocono PA aren't that far, investigate any series like Nasa, www.nasaracing.net and PDA, http://www.pdadrivingschool.com/ which will teach you with qualified instructors. Schools like Skip Barber will also teach, but you're not using your own car in most cases. PDA has worked well for several people I know in the Northeast, and they use several of the tracks I've listed above.
